Terms and Conditions of Purchase and Sale

These Terms and Conditions govern the purchase and sale of artworks through The Collector’s Edit digital platform.

By purchasing an artwork through The Collector’s Edit, the buyer agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

The Collector’s Edit acts as a commercial intermediary, connecting artists and buyers while facilitating transactions, payment processing, and logistical coordination.

Purpose and Purchase Process

The Collector’s Edit provides an online catalogue of original artworks offered by independent artists.

By placing an order, the buyer submits a purchase request for the selected artwork. Upon confirmation of availability and acceptance of the order, a purchase and sale contract is formed.

The Collector’s Edit acts as escrow holder of the payment until the transaction has been successfully completed. Upon completion, the corresponding sale value is transferred to the artist, after deduction of any commissions and applicable fees.

How to Buy

To purchase an artwork, the buyer must select the desired artwork, provide the necessary billing and delivery information, and complete payment using one of the available payment methods.

An order confirmation email will be sent following successful submission of the order.

Prices and Payments

Transparency:

All prices displayed on the platform are expressed in Euros (€) and include VAT at the legally applicable rate, unless otherwise indicated.

Shipping Costs:

Shipping and insurance costs are calculated separately and presented during checkout, depending on the destination and characteristics of the artwork.

Customs Fees:

For deliveries outside the European Union, the buyer is responsible for any customs duties, import taxes, or similar charges imposed by the destination country.

Payment Methods:

The Collector’s Edit accepts debit and credit cards, as well as other payment methods made available through the platform from time to time.

Payment security is ensured through SSL encryption protocols and third-party payment service providers.

Shipping, Delivery and Insurance

Delivery Timeframes:

As artworks often require specialist packaging and preparation, dispatch times may vary between 5 and 30 business days. Transit times depend on the selected carrier and destination.

Responsibility:

The Collector’s Edit coordinates logistics directly with the artist.

All artworks must be shipped with appropriate transport insurance. The artist is responsible for arranging such insurance upon dispatch and for providing an accurate description and declared value of the artwork in accordance with applicable postal and transport regulations.

These requirements are necessary to facilitate claims in the event of loss, damage, or deterioration during transit.

Transport Damage:

Upon delivery, buyers should inspect both the packaging and artwork.

If visible damage is detected, the buyer should refuse delivery or sign for receipt with reservation, take photographs, and notify The Collector’s Edit within 24 hours of delivery.

Authenticity and Intellectual Property

Certificate of Authenticity:

All artworks sold through The Collector’s Edit are accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the artist.

Copyright:

The purchase of a physical artwork does not transfer any intellectual property rights.

Copyright and reproduction rights remain with the artist unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Buyers may not reproduce, publish, distribute, commercially exploit, or otherwise use images of the artwork without the prior written consent of the artist, except where permitted by applicable law.
